miho museum

i've been meaning to gush about this building for some time. i m pei's obsession with purity and finesse in composition make him one of my favourite designers. having been to the bank of china (twice), and looking at his latest miho museum, i am most impressed by the experience of his volumes; they remind me of the birth of the international style, when volume was reidentified as a key art of architecture.

standing within his volumes is like being at one with the universe. i think that that is his architecture's strongest connection to nature. his spaces gives us a lot of perspective about ourselves.
